Advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Robotics, etc. have been prolific in catering to the high demand for automation across various industry sectors. Particularly the adaption of AI has been increasing across sectors due to its advantages such as reduced human error, zero risk, round-the-clock availability, digital assistance, faster decision making, etc. The healthcare sector is also no stranger to AI adaption due to the increasing healthcare issues.

Incepted in 2016, AdviNOW Medical is transforming the healthcare sector by –leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Augmented Reality (AR) to completely automate the medical encounter between patient and provider. Today’s healthcare landscape demands solutions that empower healthcare anywhere while automating cumbersome, complicated systems and processes. AdviNOW fulfills these requirements while enhancing the patient-provider relationship, protecting confidential data, and providing accurate, comprehensive chart and lab data where and when required.

The History of AdviNOW Medical

AdviNOW Medical is a brainchild of James Bates (FounderCEO, and Chairman at AdviNOW). Throughout his more than 20 years of career, James has been involved in almost every major consumer technological breakthrough, which has allowed him to gain a unique perspective on how AI can change healthcare. Prior to December 2015, James was an Officer and Senior Vice President of a $1B self-driving vehicle Technology business, where he led the developments of technologies used in self-driving vehicles and other AI-enabled IoT Applications.

In late 2015, James had an acquaintance approach him for an investment into a chain of urgent care clinics. James quickly realized that the future profitability of urgent care in its current form was not positive. Moreover, he also noticed that the clinic workflow and all other aspects of the system were not automated. Consequently, with a vision to automate around the doctor and apply the AI technology used in self-driving vehicles to healthcare, he thought he could help resolve the serious healthcare issues world faces. This led to the birth of AdviNOW Medical, a pioneer in the AI-driven medical world. With James’ vision, the company is propelling the medical world to a highly advanced and automated future.

Versatile Services and Solutions

AdviNOW Medical is the first complete patient-provider encounter automation platform that enables medical visits anywhere. It leverages Artificial intelligence (AI) to completely automate around the provider and free them from the burdens of data collection and EHR documentation. The system includes a Digital Front Door, Payment, Provider Scribe, Coding Assist, and Follow-up. Consequently, the AI-enabled documentation resulted in automated care coordination, exact and personal consistency of care with gaps closure, increased patients throughout, and reduced patient wait times.

Moreover, with one common platform used both in clinics and virtually, the presenting symptoms are evaluated by AI and the patient is triaged to the most appropriate point of care location and type. Besides this, AdviNOW Medical fulfills all requirements for the post-COVID reality of healthcare and includes Async/Sync (Video/Text/Audio) Telemedicine or in Person visits with a common platform. To deal effectively with the pandemic, the system automatically triages the at-risk patients.

The Major Driving Principles

AdviNOW Medical’s AI-based products are driven by three major founding principles of the company. The first principle is to optimize the patient-provider time for diagnosis and treatment while maintaining personal interaction. The providers are in short supply and are the most expensive part of the healthcare engagement system. The company maximizes the automation of the symptom and vitals collection, EMR charting, provider note scribing & treatment, and order entry. This automation allows the provider to focus on the valuable diagnostic and treatment part of the patient interaction.

The second principle is the democratization of healthcare. By injecting AI and augmented reality (AR) into the patient-provider encounter, ANM helps guide a patient with limited formal education to collect all information needed by the provider to diagnose and treat effectively anywhere at any time.

Furthermore, the third principle is to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction. ANM prepares the complete workup of the patients and presents it to the provider in simple overview screens. This workup includes the potential illness with measurements and other justifications followed by the most effective individualized and customized treatment. “Consistency of care is accomplished across all providers that deliver the best evidence-based medicine at the lowest costs and shortest time. The ANM workup allows all providers to achieve this consistency,” added James.

Intensified Technology Adaption

James believes that the COVID-19 pandemic has fundamentally changed the advanced technology adaption curve by at least 5 years. Before the pandemic, the sales pitch that technology plays a vital role in healthcare, making it more efficient, less expensive, and provide better care while keeping people safe was easily understood intellectually, but the movement of healthcare establishment was still slow.

However, presently in the wake of the pandemic, all healthcare entities and patients have been forced to use telemedicine. Moreover, as the leap to an Artificial Intelligence registration and predicted illness is not as far a leap as it was before, customers are moving quickly towards these technologies. AdviNOW was incepted with a vision of making healthcare available to everyone through technology. In these testing times, the practices adapted by AdviNOW are leading to lower wait times for patients and more profitability for the practice as well as enabling the future models within the value-based care vision.

Advice to the Aspiring

When asked for his advice to the aspiring technologists with futuristic approaches to healthcare, James asserts, “The world as we know it today will not exist in 20 years. Automation of white-collar tasks will force the younger generation to be creative, to add value, and find the American dream. To achieve this, they need to be creative, be persistent, and work hard.” James strives to drive this vision forward preparing the world and the workers for what is to come in the future of healthcare and the world.
